Point Reyes Trip

By 3:15 AM

After an intense couple of days in Napa Valley, I finally decided to visit Point Reyes National Park. I lived in San Francisco 7 years ago and I can not believe this is the first time I really visit the park. It is really one hour away and it's a fantastic experience for all of those who love nature. I had only one hour of sun in the whole day but also with the fog the place is very surreal and wonderful. I started with the northern part and I hiked 30 minutes  in a local beach. A very friendly labrador escorted me during the walk. I don't know who's dog was but he stayed with me the whole time until he disappeared. I guess he knew his way home.

The sun was really warm and today California just remineded me one more time what living in the golden state means. On the way to the south of the peninsula the fog already surrounded me and all my hopes to visit the lighthouse with the magnificient view of the ocean vanished. Actually I loved this unespected surreal misty atmosphere. I visited the lighthouse and I couldn't see anything. Just the sounds of the waves down below told me that I was basically suspended on a cliff and I could just imagine how the view and the panorama can look like. I was happy anyways, seemed to be floating on a cloud. The only sound I could hear were the waves crushing on the rocks, the lighthouse horn that went off every minute and some of the isolated voices of the few curious turists, also surprised by this foggy day.
A day to remember, for sure. Looking forward to go back.

Update: I forgot to add a photo of this little boy playing with a tree while the sun was breaking trough the fog.
